WELCOME TO HOTEL CRESPO

Hotel Crespo, a place inspired by the traditional customs and hospitality of the guesthouses of the city, this is the perfect place to stay at during your visit in Cuenca, Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

ARCHITECTURE OF THE XIX CENTURY

All the activities of Hotel Crespo are held in a house built in the last years of 1800. Its construction has a French style and it’s interior has been decorated with several wooden elements which makes each space warm and enjoyable.

Hotel Crespo evokes past times, everything combined with the strict requirements of modern hotels and technology. Beside our spaces have different environments and diverse corners thoughtfully prepared.

Our Hotel is by far an architecture piece of art, part of the Cultural Patrimony of the city of Cuenca, due to its location, on top of “El Barranco” (the ravine) on the side of the Tomebamba River.

TOURISM ON THE “ATHENS OF ECUADOR”

Our Hotel is located on the exclusive area of “El Barranco”, touristic icon of Cuenca. This is the natural border between the “old” city and the “new” city. It has an overwhelming view of the “Hanging Houses of El Barranco”, becoming the perfect place for walks along the colonial area of the “Athens of Ecuador”.

Located in the Southern region of the Andean Mountains, Cuenca was declared Cultural Heritage of Humanity by the UNESCO in December 1999. The city is considered a special physical space full of beauty and cultural values; here you will find details that make the difference with other regions.

We maintain the concept of offering a physical space combining a taste from home with the hospitality of ancestral people proud of their origins, summarizing on each aspect of what Cuenca represents.

Our restaurant “La Casona”, considered one of the best in the city, is a special place where you could enjoy international dishes and the specialties of our chef, while you enjoy an amazing view of the Tomebamba River.

The menu of our cafeteria includes a wide variety of special sandwiches and hamburgers accompanied by French fries.

We have developed a very special gastronomic tradition, showed on each of the dishes we offer. Some of our most famous dishes are:

Henry style Onion Soup: Prepared on a base of red onion and wine consommé, bread, Dutch cheese and cook au gratin with Parmesan cheese.

Avocado Cream with Vodka: On this cream we combine the tropical flavor of avocado with a fine touch of European vodka, milk and poultry consommé.

Coquille Saint Jacques: A delicious mix of seafood, whisky and wine served with mushrooms and a béchamel cream and cook au gratin with Parmesan cheese and a coquille. (rind of bread).

Walnut trout: Trout from the region, spiced with salt and lemon, fried on butter with garlic and parsley and server with a nut from the Andean region, locally known as “tocte”.
