In the morning you will be guided to the small fishing village of “El Morro” 1,5 hours west of Guayaquil. We will take a canoe ride through the tranquil habitat provided by some of Ecuador’s last remaining mangroves; there are red, black, white and button species of mangrove, that provide excellent hunting ground for egrets and pelicans.
On the “Island of the birds” (Isla de los pajaros) in the main arm of the Rio Guayas you can watch huge colonies of fridget birds, especially rewarding during mating season as they perform their mating rituals. Afterwards you will float peacefully in the canoe through the Rio Guayas delta watching the playful antics of the local dolphins. We will make our way back to the fishing village from where we will drive to the “Playas” beach. Here you will have lunch and then spend the afternoon relaxing and soaking up some sun. Return to Guayaquil.
