La Mision Floating Hotel, offers a unique opportunity to navigate and explore the Napo river (this is considered one of the 14 mega tributaries of the Amazon). In 1541 Francisco de Orellana on a balsa raft and leaving their patterns behind, found the greatest river in the world: The Amazon River. The departure begins once again in this historic point right in the junction of the Coca and Napo River.

What to bring with you

Lightweight long and short-sleeved shirts, lightweight pants and shorts (no jeans), comfortable shoes, swimwear, hat with brim, sunglasses, torch, insect repellent, sun block, 1-2 plastic bags, binoculars, passport, camera (with flash), day pack.

Day 1 Monday: Coca – La Mision Floating

In the morning, transfer from your hotel to the national airport of Quito to take your flight to Coca, Orellana province capital. You will be picked up at the Coca airport, and transfered to the Hotel La Mision, boarding and departure site on the Amazon adventure. The first visit is to the Limoncocha Biological reserve, black caiman’s sanctuary, one of the best bird watching sites in Ecuador, as you will enjoy a caught and release piranha fishing. At night you will spot for caimans. Return to the Floating hotel and a delicious meal will be served on board. -/L/D

Day 2 Tuesday: Yasuni National Park

In the early morning you will visit the Yasuni National Park, Biosphere reserve and the second largest National Park in Ecuador. After a short navigation you aim your eyes on one of the most amazing nature show: The parrot clay links, their diet is based on seeds which to be complemented with the kaolin on the way to neutralize…toxins. During the afternoon navigation you will have the opportunity of learning Amazon skill such as basket weaving, and jewellery. Start gazing. B/L/D

Day 3 Wednesday: Pañacocha

Early morning we Start to navigate into the Pañacocha creek for about 1:30 hours, Pañacocha creek and Pañacocha lake is the home of the pink river dolphins, hundreds of birds and different species of primates. Arrival to Pañacocha lake. Walking in the forest, the hike is aimed to identify medicinal plants, useful woods, and the links of this amazing world. After the lunch you can go swimming and also do piranha fishing.
Under the Amazon sky, a delicious dinner will be served, optional night walk, cleansing ceremony. Overnight in Pañacocha. B/L/D

Day 4 Thursday:  Pompeya

Return to the Flotel, navigation to Pompeya on the way you will stop to interact with a local  native family, where you can learn and understand their way of living in complete harmony with the nature, lunch on board continue up to Pompeya and a short visit in to the capuchin mission and its archaeological museum. Farewell dinner.

Day 5 Friday: Sumak Allpa

Breakfast and transfer to Sumak Allpa (the land of no pain), the Omagua people believed that alter death, the soul begun a trekking to find the Sumak Allpa within the Born – Die and Reborn vital circle, cultural interaction, you will proof your skills  with the blow gun and spear. Back to Coca, lunch at the hotel La Mision and transfer to the airport.

Single Supplement: USD 150,-

National Park entrance fee: USD 20,- per person

The program is also available as a 4 day tour (day 4 of the 5-day itinerary will be left out) from Friday to Monday. The price is USD 598.- per person and Single Supplement is USD 110,-.

Included in the price

Flight-Quito-Coca-Quito, transportation from Coca to the ship and vice versa, English speaking naturalist guide, native guide, three meals a day and accommodation at the La Mision Floating Hotel in double rooms, free purified water, tea, coffee, all general equipment including mosquito nets and bed linen, rubber boots, rain ponchos.

Not included in the price

International flights, binoculars, alcoholic beverages, tips, national park entrance fee ( currently USD 20,- per person ), personal items and travel insurance!
